Question 1

Do you handle small jobs, or only larger projects?

Accepted Answer

Both. Modernis takes on single small tasks — a faucet swap, a TV mount, a patch of drywall — as well as larger renovation and multi-task projects. Tell us what you need and we'll help determine the right next step.

Question 2

Can I request several services at the same time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many customers have a short list of unrelated tasks — painting, a repair, an installation — rather than one single job. You can describe multiple services in a single estimate request and select "Multiple Services."

Question 3

Do you work with property managers and landlords?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Modernis works with property managers, landlords and real-estate investors on turnovers, punch-list items and ongoing maintenance. Visit the property managers page to send a request specific to managed properties.

Question 4

Do you handle both residential and commercial properties?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Modernis works on apartments, houses, condos, offices, retail spaces and other commercial properties. Availability for a given job depends on project scope and applicable local requirements.

Question 5

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

Modernis is based in Manhattan and serves customers throughout New York City and New Jersey. Visit the service areas page for more detail on specific boroughs and regions.

Question 6

Can I upload photos of the project when I request an estimate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The estimate request form lets you attach photos, which helps us understand the scope of the project before we're in touch.

Question 7

How do I request an estimate?

Accepted Answer

Use the Request an Estimate form on any page, call if a phone number is listed, or send a callback request. The form takes a couple of minutes and asks what you need, a few project details and how to reach you.

Question 8

Can Modernis handle an apartment turnover between tenants?

Accepted Answer

Turnover-related work — wall repair, painting, cleaning, fixture replacement and similar tasks — is a common request from landlords and property managers. Describe the unit and scope in your request and we'll review it.

Question 9

Can I request painting and drywall repair together?

Accepted Answer

Yes — drywall and plaster repair is frequently requested alongside painting, since damaged walls typically need to be patched and prepped before they're painted. You can request both in one submission.

Question 10

Can I request TV mounting and furniture assembly in the same visit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mounting, shelving and furniture assembly are commonly requested together. Select "Multiple Services" or describe everything you need in the project details field.

Question 11

Do you offer free estimates?

Accepted Answer

Reach out through the estimate request form and we'll confirm how estimates work for your specific project.
